Christmas Break

It's finally Christmas break and I could not be any happier. This semester was pretty tough. I liked it and all, but it was tough because for the first time in my school life, I didn't pass an English class with an A. I honestly don't know what I go in there, but I know it's not a B or C. :(
So, needless to say, I'm not graduating with honors this year, which kinda depresses me. I tried my very best, but I guess it wasn't as great as I thought so. Hopefully I do much better in Government/Economics next semester.
Found out this morning that my PawPaw was in a car accident do to the really cold icy weather and he's in the hospital now. He's doing ok, but his eye is swollen shut and there is blood on it. He also has a giant knot on his forehead. Anyone who reads this, please keep him in your prayers.
I have to go for awhile, but I hope everyone has an awesome Christmas and New Years. Ciao.

Applying For Scholarships

Ugh... I feel like such a loser. I'm trying to apply for scholarships, but there is so much stuff I have to do before I can even think about getting a scholarship. *sigh* Being a senior is hard. I mean, I knew it would be hard, but not this hard. There is also so much stuff that I have to pay for, and it's ridiculous! We got our books talking about everything we need to by for graduation, like memory books, photo albums, cap and gown, and stuff of that nature, and all my stuff sums up to be almost $300!!! Dude! That's about what I get in a year! :(
I'm gonna go and look at some more scholarships and hope for the best. Later on I have to go talk to Mrs. Keen. She is going to help me turn in my applications to ICC next year. *sigh* Ciao.

Talent Show

So tonight, we had a talent show, and let me tell you, it was amazing, no doubt. I'll go on and tell you I didn't win anything, but it was still fun and entertaining. The Twins have been back in town, so the visited Forbus for a little while after school, then they took me to my grandma's house so I could get dressed over there. I wasn't going to go all girly and stuff like that, but I decided I should since all the other girls were doing it. I wore dress pants with a pink under shirt and gray over shirt with black heels. Needless to say, my feet were killing me.
My grandma took me to the talent show even though it was pouring, and when I got there, everyone was setting up. My best friend Mason was working the bake sale, which they had some really good stuff for sale! People kept telling meh I looked good and stuff. You gotta understand... I'm not a girly person, so yeah... LOL!
I had my song on my junk drive cause I forgot to burn it to a CD, so most of the crew backstage had to help me find a way to play. We ripped and ran for about thirty minutes, trying to figure out what to do. In the end, Joey decided to run to his house and get a blank CD for me, which was completely awesome on his part! He's a freaking lifesaver! I was suppose to be perform as number two, right after Mason, but I had to change numbers because of the whole incident with my music, which I didn't mind. So I was number 8 and a girl who hurt her leg, Summer Adams, was #2. It really helped her get across the stage easily.
Mason rapped, Summer sang, two girls danced, another girl sang, and a foreign exchange student named Sang played the piano. After those few kids, Mrs. Mackey (my art teacher), Mrs. K. (the trig teacher) and Mr. Lockhart (the Chemistry student assistant) danced wildly to Lady Gaga. That was the best part of the night, I promise! Mrs. Mackey and Mr. Lockhart had on wigs... yeah, it was just awesome. :)
Once they were done, it was my turn, and I was a nervous wreck! I was trying to calm down before I threw up, and thank God I finally did calm down. I was still nervous though. Kyle Dahlem, who was the speaker, introduced me as just Nykia cause he didn't know my last name (even though it was right there on the paper...) I got on stage and said, "Burdine, Kyle!" and he turned around and said, "Burdine! Nykia Burdine! My bad!" While they were getting the song ready, I thanked all the backstage help and Mrs. Welch for helping me get my song set up, which they didn't have to. I'm sure they appreciated the thanks. Then I sang my song, which was "Never Had A Dream Come True" by S Club 7. I'm in absolute love with that song! I wish I could say I did fantastic on it, but my voice cracked on one part which was really embarrassing. Still, everyone really loved it! I even saw so tears, man! Some folks were happy I sang it because they haven't heard it in FOREVER!!! I mean, it's from the '90's! It's amazing though.
I'll never tell Mason this, but the last part of the song, where I sing, "A part of me will always be with you," I looked right at him when I sang it, and I smiled as wide as I could. I could tell you the whole story behind if I like Mason or not, but I'll save that for a rainy day. Don't wanna bore the three followers I got. LOL! Let's just say I think Mason kinda got the hint, because he was looking right at me and he was turning red and smiling. :) <3
After that (and my standing ovation.. yay me!), Michael Adams played his drums, Hannah Smith sang, Justin Lockhart sang, and all though he messed up quiet a few times, he was still awesome, no matter what he says. Last was Steffani Gordon, then Crossover played. Crossover is a Christian Band started by some of my best buddies from Smithville, and they always sound amazing. They won last year, so this year, they got to play. After that, Mrs. Smith, who was in charge of everything, sang a song to her husband, then Austin Welch announced the winners. Third place was Hannah, second place was Sang, and first place was Joey Brown. Yeah, I forgot to say Joey was last, not Steffani. He did TaeKwonDoe with his assistant, Dustin. I'll admit, they were great and deserved it, but I'm still mad at Joey. He so knew he would win with that!
After the show, I hugged folks and folks told us we did good and stuff. It was really nice. I have two 13 year old friends now named Courtney and Quanda (the ones who danced) and Courtney has a huge crush on John Downs, the lead singer of Crossover. She just saw him tonight for the first time, and she's already obsessed with him! Wow... Anyway, she gave me her number to give to him, which I thought was hilarious! I never got a chance to talk to him, so since Chris Waddell, my brother from another mother, was close to John, I told him to give it to her and tell him what Courtney said. I can only hope John talks to her and either turns her down nicely or talk and get to know her. He's a really sweet guy, so I'm sure he'll get to know her. :)
Well, me and Mason congradulated each other over and over again (I'm telling you, he so killed that rap! :D), then hugged and he bought me a cookie. I loves that boy! :D After I was finally done hugging and talking, we left. I was just happy to take my shoes off.
My grandma got a video of the whole thing, so when I get it from her, I'm gonna put it on Facebook for folks to see. I really need to work on my singing skills if I wanna try out for the talent show at ICC next year! But I'm not mad at all about not winning cause I had such an awesome time, and that means more than a plastic green trophy. I''m done studying Heart of Darkness for the night and done typing my blog, so I'm going to bed. Ciao! <3

So Tired...

Wow, I don't know why, but I'm am so tired right now. I'm sitting in Robotics and Engineering watching the idiots do whatever the heck it is they do. I was playing games, but even that got boring. I mean, almost everything is blocked, so what I can play actually sucks.

Anyways, I'm proud to say I finished Ghost of Me!!!!! It took me nine months, but it was so worth it because I really think it's a amazing, and I'm not just saying that because I wrote it. :-) I'm going to read it over once more (Twin is gonna help me) and then I'll start letting my friends read it. I really, really wanna get it published, but I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. I've looked all over for publishers, but I can't find a good one. One day, when I become famous, I'm getting Scholastic to publish my stuff. I've been such a huge fan of them ever since I learned how to read, plus, they published Harry Potter.

My phone has been dead for like two weeks now, and even though I really hate that piece of junk, I kinda miss it. :-( I haven't texted anyone or gotten my Twitter messages. I WANT MY TWITTER MESSAGES!!!! I miss my Twitter friends, @Laura_B_1993, @MrsJames_Phelps, @roonilwazlib17, @MalfoyFanGirl, @MrsRupertGrint_. They all are so freaking great, and I've gone crazy not talking to them! I'm pretty sure certain people are happy about my lack of tweets, mainly because I tweet like a madwoman. LOL!

I'm gonna go cause the bell is gonna ring, plus, I'm gonna show Tyler how to hook up this electrical machine. Ciao! <3

School's Back in Session

Hi! I know it's been awhile since I've updated, but school started back over a month ago, so I've been stuck with homework and the such. Right now I'm actually typing his from school, which amazes me because I didn't even know I could do this. :-) My classes for this sememster are as follows: Driver's Ed, 1st period; AP Lit 1st block; Robotics and Engineering 2nd block; and Art 1 3rd block. I'm in 2nd block now. We're suppose to being doing work, but our sub said we could play games and such as long as we're quiet. The folks in here must really wanna play some games cause it's MUCH quieter than usual. LOL!

Last year, this was so one of my favortie classes. I had my foriegn buds in here, Alvaro Apolinario (Brazil) and Jean Russo (Argentina). They were the best, and I cried so much when they left. Also, last year, there wasn't many people in here like now. Me and Susan Marshall (who also has a blog) are the only girls in here, which kinda sucks considering the guys we have in here. Most of them are jocks, so all they do is talk about sports and they never shut up. *sigh* It's annoying.

Since I'm 2nd year, Susan has to work with Tyler, Justin Taylor, and Wesley. I don't know what she thinks of it all. Anyways, besides all that AP Lit is by far the worst class. I mean, I love reading and stuff, but that work is way too hard! I don't blame Forbus though. She's amazingly awesome! :D

I love Art Class also because I've gotten better with drawing. The other day, I drew the whole Simpsons family and got an A on it! AWESOMENESS!!!! Okay, it's getting close to leaving (I'm at VoTech)so I gotta shut down the computer. Wish I could have written more. Ciao for now!

Madness

"Let's face it. Twilight fans only wanna go to Forks because they never got their Hogwarts letter." Lord_Voldemort7

This week has been so hetic. Scary at first, but then just turned awesome. Monday, my seven-year-old cousin Joseph was hit by a state trooper car. I was taking pictures of his sister, who was across the street, and he tried to go across without looking both ways. The car hit him, but miraculousy, he was ok. They took him to the Tupelo hospital to make sure and check him out, and the only thing on his body that would tell you he was in a accident was a small scratch on his forehead. That's it. You know what the doctors said? They said he was BLESSED. :0 How many of you have ever heard a doctor say that? I haven't heard many! I believe he was caught by an angel and he's truly blessed! But if he ever breaks away from me again when I tell him to stand still, I'm gonna hurt him!

On another note, the Adam Lambert concert was simply amazing! Me, Mallory, and her mom left Wednesday around eight in the morning and finally got in Nashville about 2 or 3, which is amazingly good timing seeing that we got lost a few times, plus we stopped almost everywhere between Mississippi and Alabama. We got to our hotel, which was a Days Inn (I so hate those now), then went swimming for a little bit, then went to the concert. The place wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but it reminded me a lot of Hogwarts, which I had to tell all my followers on Twitter. :) Mallory and I were trying to get some CD's and stuff when Allison Iraheta started singing, so we had to get out of line just to see her.

At first, I didn't care about Allison Iraheta cause I'd never heard about her. Once I actually saw her though, it was FREAKING AMAZING!!! That chick can sing! Mallory let me borrow the CD and I've been listening to it like crazy! Then Orianthi was up, which I really loved. OMG, her playing the guitar is soooooo much better in person! I was pretty close to her too, and my gosh, I just cannot explain the experience.

But Adam Lambert, wow! That was honestly the absolute best part. So many colors... so much sweat... SO MUCH ADAM! Wow, he's even hotter in person. And I was closer to him than I was Orianthi! That's pretty dang close! Kellie Pickler was in the audience and no one knew, then when everyone found out, folks were lining up to take pictures and things.

After the concert, which I really didn't want to leave, we went to Krystal's, then back to the hotel and sleep. The next day was spent all over Nashville, eating at awesome places and going where all the stars have been. I got the most amazing pictures too!

So that's it. That's the concert. Going to Nashville was something I know I won't forget. I'm going to go now and work on Ghost of Me. Hope I didn't bore anyone. Ciao!

Another Day...

Some of my family is down here, which is good that I'm getting to see them. It's been pretty fun so far, but my little cousin, Joseph, keeps trying to start a fight with me, seeing who's the biggest Harry Potter fan. I am NOT going to start a fight with a 7-year-old! HAHA! It's all good though. We're about to go eat at my great uncle's house for a little bit.

Yep, it's just another boring day. But the good news is that I got some more ideas for the middle part of Ghost of Me! =D That makes me really happy because it's been a HUGE struggle trying to think of something. Hopefully, I won't get anymore writer's block and I'll be able to finish my book by August, before school starts back.

Oh man... school. So far away! I'm ready to get this year over with! One more year, and I'm done with school FOREVER!!!!! Or at least until college in July. HAHA! Still, it's all gonna be good. I'mma go take a shower so my cousin and I can go to my uncle's house and eat so fish. Fish is good... LOL!! Ciao, peeps!
